About
The Pacific doesn't care about your plans. When Flight 172 went down, it took the world Alexander "Xander" Marino knew along with it. Now, he's stranded on a remote strip of sand and jungle with a handful of survivors who are as broken as the wreckage they crawled out of.
On this island, the sun is a hunter and the nights are long enough to let your demons catch up to you. Every choice is a gamble with a human life on the line. As the heat rises and the veneer of civilization peels away, you'll have to decide:
What are you willing to do to survive, and who are you willing to become?
Survival Mechanics
Flight 172 is a slow-burning visual novel where the branching paths are as jagged as the coastline.
- Fatal Consequences: No one is safe. Death is a permanent resident, and a single lapse in judgment can end a survivor's story, forcing you to look back, find the fracture in your logic, and choose a different path to survival.
- The Butterfly Effect: Experience the tragedy through shifting perspectives. One survivor's moment of weakness might be another's death sentence.
- Logic over Luck: The narrative rewards intuition and cold observation. Follow your instincts, accept the fallout, and bookmark often. The truth is often buried in the wreckage.
Customizing the Experience
-
Disturbing Content Filters: Flight 172 explores themes of loss, trauma, and survival. Face the island on your own terms with optional filters for audio (muting intense sounds), dialogue (censoring specific triggers), and visuals (obscuring graphic imagery).

- Tooltip – Reveals stats on hover (Desktop only).
- Kinetic – Removes choices entirely to follow the canonical “Golden Route.”
-
Measurement Options: Toggle between Metric and Imperial units for distance, temperature, weight, and volume.
Accessibility for Every Survivor
- Blindness Accessibility: Optimized Text-to-Speech (TTS), alternate navigation, and detailed scene descriptions for visually impaired players.
- Dyslexic Font: Switches all in-game text to OpenDyslexic to improve readability.
- Kinetic Font Toggle: Enables or disables animated dialogue effects.

The goal is simple: make Flight 172 accessible and enjoyable for everyone.

Alyssa Clyde grew up with a loving family in a small rural area off the beaten path. Though it wouldn’t be accurate to call their home a ‘ranch’ or a ‘farm,’ it was certainly not without animals. Chickens, goats, and even a dairy cow named Toots filled the property, and Alyssa grew up learning to tend and care for them all. The home was never quiet, and winter nights were spent snuggled by the fire alongside litters of snoring pups.
It was here that Alyssa developed a deep love for the animals that gave so much to her family, from chickens providing eggs to goats and cows giving milk. Even the dogs contributed, protecting the family from coyotes and snakes.
As she grew older, this affection turned into a passion for learning how to care for animals as much as they cared for her. Throughout middle and high school, she spent every available moment in libraries devouring books on veterinary medicine. With few veterinary schools in the country, she knew getting in would be challenging, but her strong grades kept her encouraged.
Veterinary school proved difficult. Focused on her studies and with little time for sleep, Alyssa’s professors and lab partners often commented that, while her work was exceptional, her bedside manners were inconsistent. She was sometimes overly affectionate or energetic, and at other times cold or distant. Fortunately, with support from friends, family, and psychiatrists, she was able to manage her mood swings and graduated with top honors.
At 27, Alyssa finally fulfilled her dream by joining a No-Kill Animal Shelter as a Veterinary Assistant. Her dedication and care quickly earned her a promotion to Veterinarian. Unfortunately, her career was cut short at 29 when an incident led to her license being suspended, with reinstatement contingent on meeting certain conditions.
With her emotional support dog, Zero, by her side, Alyssa decided to take a wellness vacation. With her psychiatrist’s permission and ongoing phone consultations, she booked a flight to Auckland, New Zealand, hoping to rest and recover.

Cassie Pearce had learned to make herself smaller.
More than just physically, she was twenty-four and healthy-looking enough, but in the way she moved through the world. She functioned well, awake, cooperative, composed, yet everything felt muted, as if behind a thin layer of glass. She spoke softly, waited her turn, answered questions with just enough detail. It was easier that way. People rarely lingered when there was nothing to linger on.
Her thoughts came slowly, sometimes vanishing halfway through. The fatigue was heavier than sleep could fix. Doctors called it a chemical imbalance, leaving her limbs warm and distant, her emotions pleasantly blunted. They assured her it was temporary, a side effect of treatment to keep her stable.
The trip to New Zealand was practical. A continuation of care. A clean handoff from one set of doctors to another. After the respiratory illness earlier in the year, her body had become unpredictable. Fatigue arrived without warning. Dizziness made standing risky. Nothing dramatic, nothing obvious, but enough to keep her cautious.
The clinic in Auckland specialized in long-term monitoring. Observation without urgency. They promised her time, more valuable than answers. Time to stabilize. Time to breathe without counting every inhale. Cassie had grown used to being guided, told when to rest, eat, and take the medicines that slowed her thoughts and made her body compliant. She told herself it was helping. Preferable to whatever waited beyond the fog.
By the time of her flight, Cassie felt strangely settled. Relief came from not deciding anything herself. She trusted the next set of doctors would know what to do and she let herself be prepared without question.

Born and raised on a small farm in Old River, Celeste lived a simple life with her parents and grandparents. Until her 12th birthday, her days were spent traveling across the Great Lone River for school, then returning home to work the fields with her family.
After her mother passed away, Celeste's father took a job in Los Angeles. Gammy claimed he was running from his grief rather than facing it head-on, and she was right. Regardless, the family packed their bags and moved to a small suburb just outside of LA.
It was there that Celeste met Xander, who quickly became her best friend. While unpacking the moving truck, their new neighbor arrived with a freshly baked loaf of bread as a housewarming gift and offered to help. They spent the rest of the afternoon goofing off and occasionally unloading boxes. Later that evening, her father ordered pizza. Surrounded by boxes, a DVD player, and a TV, they enjoyed their meal together. That night, Celeste and Xander had their first of many movie nights.
From then on, they regularly alternated sleepovers at each other’s houses. The Marino household quickly became a second home for Celeste, and she often barged in without knocking. Mr. and Mrs. Marino quickly took a liking to her. Some might find it unusual for a boy and girl to have frequent sleepovers, but the Fosters and Marinos weren’t concerned.
Like any boy-meets-girl story, things changed with puberty. Celeste experienced it sooner than Xander. In middle school, she developed a bad case of “boy fever” as the awkward, gangly country girl grew into her body. Her new awareness that Xander was a boy caused some strain in their relationship during high school. This wasn't because she didn’t want to be around him, but because she didn’t know how to behave around him anymore.
As high school progressed and they both matured, Celeste began paying closer attention to Xander’s likes and dislikes. To anyone observant, and particularly Xander’s mother, Tiffany, it was painfully obvious what was happening. She discarded her contacts in favor of glasses and began growing her hair out, all because of offhand comments about his preferences in girls.
Toward the end of their senior year, Celeste finally succeeded in capturing Xander’s attention, not just as a friend, but as a lover. Like most high school romances, however, their story did not end perfectly. Though neither Celeste nor Xander discuss the reasons for their breakup, Celeste continues trying to rekindle the friendship they once shared.

Charity is a carefree soul who enjoys the nerdier things in life. She would describe herself as a 'hardcore shipper' who writes passionate love stories about her favorite manga characters. She grew up surrounded by art: her mother was a writer and her father an artist. Her nights were spent at book signings and art galleries, interacting with people of high society. It was in these environments that she learned to love and cherish the fine arts.
At age eight, she wrote and illustrated her first picture book, Turtle Loves World, about a little turtle afraid of all the bright and scary lights outside its shell. Only when the turtle ventured out and experienced the beautiful sounds and colors did it realize the world was a beautiful place. With her mother’s publishing company, Turtle Loves World became a New York Times best-selling children’s book.
For the next few years, Charity wrote more children’s books in the “…Loves World” series, each exploring the emotions of a new animal. It wasn’t until high school that her first major shift in interests occurred. Ally, her best friend, lent her a copy of Signs of Affection. This new love for manga consumed Charity’s every waking moment, as she devoured volumes ranging from Kodomo and Shōnen to Shōjo and Josei.
One evening, while searching for a new manga series, Charity discovered a peculiar shrink-wrapped volume set aside from the rest. Curious, she took home Cave of Tentacles and was introduced to the world of adult doujinshi manga.
Throughout college, she consumed manga, anime, and hentai, and in her sophomore year, she launched a Patreon to publish her own adult doujinshi. Affectionately named DebauCherry, it quickly gained popularity in the doujin community for its particularly detailed depictions of risqué scenarios.
Her parents weren’t pleased. The sweet angel who had written children’s stories about love and exploration was now creating stories of a different nature. Tensions grew, worsened by the fact that Charity began dating a ‘much’ older man. Albert became her source of comfort amidst the conflict.
Her parents claimed he was grooming her, but in reality, Albert was a socially awkward introvert only four years older than Charity (she was 19, he 23). Charity approached him in the library, asked him out on the first date, and in the summer of 2024 proposed to him. Though her parents did not approve, they ultimately chose to bite their tongues—they had been young once, too.
The wedding preparations were funded entirely by Charity's “…Loves World” book royalties. On Sunday, March 9th, 2025, at 7:00 AM, watching the sunrise over the ocean, Charity Lewis became Charity Davis, marrying the love of her life, Albert Davis. Just five days later, they were on their honeymoon, looking forward to starting the rest of their lives together.

Intending to be groomed to inherit the prestigious Roberts and Roberts Law Firm, Dani was meant to be born Daniel, the future heir of Tabitha and Renauld Roberts. A doctor’s mistake revealed otherwise, and Renauld, convinced a daughter could never run the firm, reacted with fury (toward Dani and the Doctor). Persuaded by the head maid, Hope, he allowed her and her husband Christian, both unable to have children, to raise the baby instead.
Dani grew up under temporary custody, never formally adopted, a Roberts in name but not in standing. While Tabitha offered limited protection, Renauld kept Dani at arm’s length, and the staff understood her fragile position. Though educated and provided for, she was isolated, burdened by the constant sense of being unwanted.
That fragile balance shattered with the birth of Renauld Roberts II. With a true heir secured, Dani became expendable. Under the pretense of giving her independence, Tabitha arranged for Dani to work as a flight attendant through a firm partner. The highly social job proved overwhelming, and Dani learned to survive by staying unnoticed.
Until Renauld II comes of age, remaining out of sight is Dani’s safest choice. Only then might she finally be free.

Erika Lawson
Raised in a single-income home with her mother, Deloris, and older brother, Eric (E.J.), Erika was never wealthy but never truly in want. While Deloris worked two jobs to provide, E.J. took on the role of caretaker for Erika, teaching her and helping guide her development. Although their passions rarely aligned, the siblings found unique ways to combine hobbies so neither was left out.
Because of their five-year age gap, Erika witnessed the love and dedication her family put into ensuring she never missed out. It wasn’t just her mother who sacrificed; E.J. did as well. While his friends enjoyed their high school and college years, he stayed home to help Erika study and accompany her to track meets. Without complaint, he poured his own passions into supporting her athletic career, even helping her develop an online presence in the fitness world.
Everything changed when Erika turned 16 and her mother was diagnosed with breast cancer. Hobbies gave way to necessity as Erika and E.J.’s focus shifted to caregiving and work. E.J. dropped out of college, and Erika traded track and field for a part-time personal training job at a local gym. Normally, trainers need certification, but the gym owner, who was also Erika’s coach, hired her as an act of charity with the expectation of certification within a month.
As time went on, responsibilities increasingly began to fall to E.J. and Erika. Their mother’s hair and weight began to fall, and that once-bright smile faded. Recognizing the mental fight with cancer was just as important as the physical, Erika fought alongside to restore her joy. After a tough chemo session, Erika treated Deloris to a mani-pedicure. On a whim, she announced she wanted a new hairstyle and drove straight to the salon Deloris had avoided since treatment began. To her mother’s shock, Erika had the stylist cut off her long wavy brown hair.
With newfound confidence and love, Erika felt the weight lift from her shoulders. For the first time in years, she saw her mother laugh. Erika then used her hair to create a beautiful wig for Deloris, marking a turning point in her recovery. From then on, Erika maintained her hairstyle and continued donating her locks to charity. After two long years, they emerged victorious over cancer.
There were, however, two casualties. Deloris underwent a mastectomy as the final step toward being cancer-free, leading to a gender dysphoria crisis. Erika commissioned an artist to design a rose-embellished mastectomy tattoo for her mother. Quoting Shakespeare, "That which we call a rose, by any other name would smell as sweet," Erika reminded her mother she was defined by more than her body. Sitting side by side in the tattoo parlor, the pain of the procedure was nothing compared to the joy of seeing Deloris smile again.
Through it all, the family grew closer. E.J. continued his photography career, while Erika became a successful personal trainer. Building on their early teamwork, Erika proposed joining forces. Leveraging E.J.’s technical skills and her own fitness expertise, they launched Awesum' Lawson Productions. With E.J. behind the camera and Erika’s charismatic presence in front, the company quickly became a successful lifestyle and fitness brand while also advocating for cancer research.

Grace Myers was born into a world of "Cloudy Grey," but she never allowed the lack of sight to define the boundaries of her life. It was all she knew, after all. From her earliest memories, she was drawn not to the toys of childhood, but the rhythmic sounds and aromatic warmth of her mother's kitchen. As a toddler, she would pull a stool to the counter. Her small hands reaching for the grit of flour and the sticky resistance of batter.
To Grace, the world outside was loud and unpredictable, but the kitchen made sense. If she stirred the bowl, the splashing sound told her exactly how much was left; if she cracked an egg just right, the weight in her hand changed in a way she could count on. In the kitchen, everything had a place, and every action had a predictable answer.
On her sixth birthday, Grace told her parents she wanted a kitchen of her own. She didn't want a plastic playset with fake food. She wanted to feel the heat and smell the transformation of ingredients. Her parents found a middle ground and gifted her an Easy-Bake Oven. It was her first step toward independence and the beginning of a long, self-imposed apprenticeship.
By the time she reached middle school, the toy had been replaced by a professional range and a set of carbon steel knives. These years were marked by the sting of steam burns and the sharp lessons of blade work. Each scar became a sensory map that taught her the physics of heat transfer and the precise geometry of steel. She learned to identify the exact moment of a sear by the pitch of the sizzle and the readiness of a roast by the resistance of the fibers.
By high school, Grace's confidence was as sharp as her blades. Her reputation preceded her like local folklore, and stories surrounding her are still whispered through school halls and faculty break rooms. One such story involved the day a Home Economics teacher refused to allow a blind student into her kitchen, a sparking confrontation that no one present would ever forget. Grace didn't file a complaint; she issued a challenge. In an Iron Chef style showdown before the entire faculty, Grace prepared a masterful Beef Bourguignon. The rich, complex aromas and perfectly rendered textures left the teacher embarrassed and the staff in awe. Though she was begrudgingly offered a seat in the class afterward, Grace declined with a cold, signature precision: "You have nothing to teach me."
That iron-willed determination carried her to the top of her class at the Fletcher Institute of Culinary Arts. Grace rules her kitchen with a legendary "iron fist," maintaining a workspace of surgical cleanliness where every spice and utensil has a precise and immovable coordinate. Now an Executive Chef at a three-star Michelin restaurant, she operates with a memory so vast she can "see" the entire line in her mind. To Grace, the kitchen isn't about sight. It is about timing, vibration, and the perfect, searing truth of the flame.

Julia Stewart is the youngest of four children of Rebecca and Austin Stewart. As the only daughter, Rebecca was thrilled at the prospect of playing house, dress-up, and hosting tea parties.
Unfortunately, Julia had other plans and preferred spending her time outside, roughing it with her older brothers. Cuts, bruises, and broken bones became frequent occurrences, and Rebecca and Austin quickly became on a first-name basis with their local urgent care staff.
In high school, Julia quickly fell in love — with fastpitch softball. By this point, Rebecca had already embraced a tomboy lifestyle, and the softball diamond was the only "diamonds" Julia cared about. Tiaras were exchanged for batting helmets, and high heels for cleats.
Julia wasn't just good at fastpitch softball — she was exceptional. Earning a full ride to Cinder Tree University, she dominated the fastpitch scene and became the best catcher nationally. After her team, the Emberhawks, won the Women's College World Series, Julia became a household name for the athletic stunts she pulled off in Game 3. Her trophy case is filled with prestigious awards, including the USA Softball Collegiate Player of the Year and the Rawlings Gold Glove.
Though she still plays softball in local leagues, Julia pursued a career in the Business Intelligence sector after graduating. She earned a position at SmartWorks Incorporated as a Quality Assurance Engineer, quickly climbed the corporate ladder, and now serves as Head of Quality Assurance Liaison, working closely with both customers and the development team.
